About The Position

We are seeking a General Medicine Physician for a Locum Tenens position at a correctional facility in Oakdale, Louisiana. This is a 1.0 FTE role with the potential for a long-term contract. The physician will provide clinical coverage, focusing on direct patient care for an adult patient population. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, totaling 40 hours per week. The physician will work independently but in coordination with the facility's Clinical Director and Medical Officer, with support from mid-level practitioners, nurses, EMTs, and administrative staff. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating acute and chronic medical conditions, providing urgent and emergency medical care, conducting comprehensive histories and physical examinations, managing chronic care, reviewing reports, documenting medical records, completing clinical forms, and providing clinical guidance to support staff. The facility will provide all necessary medical equipment, supplies, and forms.

Requirements

• Active unrestricted license in any State or U.S territory
• BLS/ACLS
• DEA License
• NPI
