About The Position

This position is responsible for the maintenance of the facility and the repair of manufacturing equipment while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This is a 1st shift position available at the San Lorenzo Plant. Tyson Foods creates quality products in a safe environment for its team members and offers great benefits and steady work.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years hands-on industrial maintenance mechanic experience including electrical, conveyor, controls, ac/dc, pneumatics and hydraulics.
Basic math skills.
Computer skills.
Ability to read and comprehend product specifications sheets.
Ability to assess equipment.
Demonstrated mechanical knowledge.
Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
Willingness and ability to tolerate temperatures of 35 degrees or below for the entire shift.
Ability to lift 40-60 pounds to shoulder height repeatedly.
Ability to walk and stand on cement floor for the shift duration.
Must be available to work all shifts, including weekends, and available for overtime.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of USDA regulations, plant sanitation standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Executing maintenance and repair work associated with CMMS work orders.
Repairing line equipment (mixers, grinders, clipper stuffers, slicers, labelers, multivacs, etc).
Pre-check and setup of equipment.
Cutting, welding, and electrical work.
Performing weekly, monthly, and semi-annual inspections throughout the facility, including but not limited to: Fire Extinguishers, Fire Sprinkler system, Eye wash / shower Stations, Emergency Lighting, Alarm for access doors, Rail Inspections.
Lighting Repairs throughout the Facility.
Repairing/replacing copper pipes (soldering copper).
Pipe Threading of various sizes and types of material.
Repairs to Toilets, sinks, and Water Heaters.
Driving Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, other Aerial lifts / Boom lifts, Telescoping Lifts, etc.
