This position is responsible for the maintenance of the facility and repair of manufacturing equipment while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This role involves executing maintenance and repair work associated with CMMS work orders, including repairing various line equipment such as mixers, grinders, clipper stuffers, slicers, labelers, and multivacs. The job also includes pre-checking and setting up equipment, performing cutting, welding, and electrical work, and other duties as assigned. The role requires the ability to tolerate temperatures of 35 degrees or below for the entire shift, lift 40-60 pounds to shoulder height repeatedly, and walk and stand on a cement floor for the shift duration. Additionally, the position requires the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, possess basic math and computer skills, and comprehend product specifications sheets, assess equipment, and demonstrate mechanical knowledge. A working knowledge of USDA regulations, plant sanitation standards, and procedures is preferred. Responsibilities include performing weekly, monthly, and semi-annual inspections throughout the facility, such as for fire extinguishers, fire sprinkler systems, eye wash/shower stations, emergency lighting, alarms for access doors, and rail inspections. Other duties include lighting repairs, repairing/replacing copper pipes (soldering copper), pipe threading of various sizes and material types, and repairs to toilets, sinks, and water heaters. The role also requires the ability to drive forklifts, scissor lifts, and other aerial/boom lifts.
