About The Position

We’re looking for a Mechanic to join our team in Oakdale California! The Oakdale Plant, home to Hunt’s Tomatoes, Rosarita, Manwich & more, encompasses over 800 employees and sits on over 22 acres of land. You will report to a Supervisor and join a team of other maintenance personnel. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial equipment to ensure continuous operation and compliance with safety and quality standards. You are working a “journey-level” position, where you are fully qualified and trained with significant experience, capable of working independently. Under the direction of a Supervisor, you may perform a specific maintenance function as assigned within an overall facility, or within a designated operational department.

Requirements

Journey-level Mechanic (MIV) qualification
Significant experience in maintaining and repairing industrial equipment
Ability to work independently
Effective communication skills
Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and identify root causes of failures
Ability to implement effective solutions
Knowledge of safety protocols and applicable standards

Experience leading, mentoring, training, and supervising other Mechanics

Qualify as a journey-level Mechanic (MIV).
Communicate effectively and work closely with Head and/or Lead Mechanics and other maintenance professionals to align maintenance and repair efforts with production goals or facility-specific needs.
Perform and oversee routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Diagnose mechanical issues, identify root causes of failures, and implement effective solutions to restore functionality quickly and efficiently.
Under the direction of a Supervisor, may lead, mentor, train, and supervise Mechanics within a department or maintenance function, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring quality of work.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, verifying compliance with applicable standards.
Provide guidance and training to other (journey-level and non-journey-level) Mechanics, fostering skill development and promoting best practices.
Identify opportunities to enhance maintenance procedures, recommend upgrades or adjustments to equipment, and contribute to overall operational efficiency.
