About The Position

As a General Manager, you will lead a complex supply chain operation responsible for delivering exceptional service, operational excellence, and business results. You will oversee facility operations, develop strategic plans, lead high-performing teams, and ensure the safe, efficient movement of goods that support Walmart's commitment to customers and communities. This role requires a proven leader who can drive performance, inspire associates, foster a culture of belonging, and deliver results through operational excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 3 years experience in a senior management role within an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide OR 2 years experience as a Walmart Logistics Assistant General Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates OR 5 years experience in a senior management role as an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide

Responsibilities

  • Lead Operations and Drive Results: Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve operational, financial, quality, and safety goals. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance performance and productivity. Monitor key performance indicators and leverage data-driven insights to make informed business decisions. Ensure operational readiness to meet customer demand while maintaining high service standards.
  • Build and Develop High-Performing Teams: Provide leadership and direction to facility leadership teams and associates. Set clear expectations, communicate priorities, and hold teams accountable for results. Recruit, develop, coach, and retain top talent. Create opportunities for learning, career growth, and leadership development. Foster an inclusive culture where associates feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
  • Manage Financial Performance: Oversee facility budgets, expenses, and asset utilization to ensure financial objectives are achieved. Analyze business performance reports and identify opportunities to optimize resources and improve profitability. Ensure workforce planning and staffing strategies effectively support operational demands.
  • Champion Safety, Quality, and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and accountability across all levels of the operation. Ensure compliance with Walmart policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Implement and maintain operational procedures that support efficiency, consistency, and risk mitigation. Lead efforts to continuously improve safety and quality performance.
  • Deliver Exceptional Stakeholder Experience: Build strong relationships with associates, customers, suppliers, and business partners. Resolve complex issues through effective problem-solving, sound judgment, and collaboration. Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization to drive alignment and engagement.
