About The Position

This is the role that most leaders spend a career working toward — and we're offering it at the start of something brand new. As the founding General Manager of the Mercedes-Benz Van Center of Vancouver, you'll have full operational authority and the opportunity to build a dealership in your own image: the team, the culture, the client experience, and the market strategy. We're looking for a proven, visionary automotive leader who is ready to make history in the Pacific Northwest. The Mercedes-Benz Van Center of Vancouver is a brand-new, dedicated Sprinter Van Center opening in August 2026 in the heart of the Vancouver/Portland metro area. We are not just another dealership — we are a purpose-built facility focused exclusively on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, serving businesses, commercial fleets, adventure enthusiasts, and hospitality partners across the Pacific Northwest. This is a rare ground-floor opportunity. You won't be inheriting someone else's culture or fitting into an existing mold — you'll be helping to build it. We believe that exceptional hospitality isn't just for guests; it starts with how we treat each other and every person who walks through our doors. At our Van Center, hospitality is a core value — not a department. Every team member plays a role in delivering an experience that is warm, professional, and genuinely different from anything in our market.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive automotive dealership leadership, with meaningful experience as a General Manager or General Sales Manager
  • Demonstrated success in a full-line dealership P&L role
  • Experience with commercial vehicle sales, fleet programs, or B2B automotive markets a strong advantage
  • Mercedes-Benz or premium/luxury brand experience highly preferred
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills — you attract and retain top talent
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: you're energized by building, not just managing
  • Deep commitment to hospitality as a business philosophy, not just a customer service tactic
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing multi-department P&L
  • Community-connected and comfortable representing a premium brand in a high-profile market role
  • Valid driver's license with clean record

Responsibilities

  • Hold full P&L responsibility for all departments: Sales, Service, Parts, and Finance
  • Lead pre-opening strategy, facility readiness, team hiring, and operational launch activities
  • Recruit and build the founding leadership team across all departments
  • Establish the Van Center's culture, standards, and processes aligned with Mercedes-Benz brand requirements and our hospitality-first values
  • Drive commercial sales strategy to establish market presence with B2B fleet clients, hospitality operators, and enterprise accounts
  • Own relationships with Mercedes-Benz brand and factory representatives
  • Oversee inventory management, vehicle ordering, and floor plan strategy
  • Lead community engagement, local marketing, and brand awareness initiatives in the Vancouver/Portland market
  • Analyze financial performance, identify opportunities, and implement strategies to exceed targets
  • Serve as the visible leader of the organization — internally and externally

Benefits

  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and paid time off
