About The Position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility's operations, ensuring safety, compliance, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and operational excellence. This role involves strategic leadership, people management, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-paced warehouse environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five (5) years previous work experience in a high-paced warehouse environment.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office to include Outlook, Excel, Access and Word.
  • Ability to master internal computer systems.
  • Strategic & Financial Acumen – Translates business objectives into actionable plans and interprets financial and operational data (P&L, budgets, productivity metrics) to drive profitability and growth.
  • Operational Excellence – Applies continuous-improvement and Lean/Six Sigma principles to raise quality, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Customer Partnership – Builds trusted, long-term customer relationships; anticipates needs and resolves issues before they escalate.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Direct and coordinate daily 3PL warehouse activities to meet customer expectations for shipping and receiving quality and accuracy.
  • Respond quickly and positively to customer concerns, resolving potential problems before they affect the customer.
  • Communicate daily with the customer to understand service needs and implement required processes.
  • Develop and execute business plans, budgets, and goals with corporate and customer representatives.
  • Review progress against business plans, budgets, and goals.
  • Interpret financial and operational data to inform decisions and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction.
  • Monitor costs and quality controls to maintain and enhance profitability.
  • Recommend capital expenditures for equipment that increases facility efficiency and service level.
  • Partner with company and customer officials on policy, procedure, goal, and objective development and implementation.
  • Manage day-to-day facility activities, ensuring work is accomplished in line with corporate policies and objectives.
  • Establish ongoing continuous-improvement programs, applying Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures with the Operations team and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Develop and monitor productivity standards.
  • Oversee inventory control, quality control, and damage reduction.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and SOPs by all Team Members and managers.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and productive operation.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, training, personnel selection, and professional development.
  • Ensure development and implementation of professional development plans for Team Members, supervisors, and managers.
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate supervisory personnel in addressing Team Member concerns, complaints, and developmental needs.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and administer corrective and progressive discipline.
  • Negotiate resolutions to workplace conflicts and foster an inclusive environment.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed by Holman.
