BlueLinx is seeking a results-driven General Manager with a proven track record of leading sales teams and managing profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities. This role is responsible for aligning local market strategy with corporate strategy to maximize long-term profit and return on working capital. The General Manager will manage all aspects of logistics in the assigned district, develop relationships with key customers, and ensure all customer commitments are met. They will also oversee sales strategy, work with operations to ensure brand expectations are met, and manage sales representatives to improve profitability and product penetration. This includes conducting joint sales calls, coaching and mentoring sales representatives, managing inventory levels, and leading the team through selection, hiring, objective setting, coaching, and performance evaluation. Ensuring direct reports receive applicable training and development opportunities and holding them accountable for performance are key aspects of this role, along with maintaining high team engagement.
