About The Position

The General Manager oversees club operations to ensure an exceptional Judgement Free member experience and a financially successful club. This role leads employees in a positive, motivating manner and is suited to a results-oriented leader committed to quality service. The General Manager works across member service, staffing, administration, cleanliness, maintenance, and facility safety.

Requirements

At least 2 years of supervisor or manager experience in a high-volume restaurant or retail environment, or 2 years of Planet Fitness experience preferred.
Comfort working a flexible rotating schedule.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current CPR certification required, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
Ability to talk and hear, sit, stand, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
Occasionally stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.
Ability to travel to other clubs as needed.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor's degree or four years of supervisor or manager experience preferred.
Two years of Planet Fitness experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Handle front-desk activities, answer phone calls, check members into the system, sign up new members, give prospective members tours, and address member requests, issues, and questions.
Recruit, hire, train, and develop Assistant General Managers, Front Desk Associates, and Fitness Trainers.
Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and ensure staff follow customer-service guidelines and Planet Fitness values and goals.
Schedule staff and ensure all shifts are covered.
Train and coach direct reports, maintain accountability, resolve employee concerns, and manage corrective actions and terminations.
Process bi-weekly employee timesheets.
Manage the cash drawer and deposit procedures.
Oversee facility cleanliness and maintenance, including personally cleaning the largest section daily, and maintain cleaning and daily-round logs.
Manage the club's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) platform.
Ensure the safety of employees, members, and club property, and communicate equipment repair needs in a timely manner.
