About The Position

Avion Hospitality is seeking an experienced, energetic, and entrepreneurial General Manager to lead the Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown into its next chapter of success. Located in the heart of downtown Austin, this role is responsible for the overall operation, profitability, and success of the hotel. The General Manager will drive revenue growth, control expenses, develop talent, elevate the guest experience, and maintain the physical integrity of the asset while ensuring compliance with Hilton and Avion Hospitality standards. This is a visible leadership role that involves all aspects of the hotel, from sales and revenue strategy to team development, guest engagement, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or equivalent leadership roles.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance.
  • Proven success in team development, guest satisfaction, and operational leadership.
  • Strong sales mindset with the ability to support revenue generation efforts.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead through change and create momentum during a management transition.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading branded hotels preferred; Hilton experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all hotel operations with a focus on guest satisfaction, team engagement, and financial performance.
  • Build and sustain a culture of Trust, Transparency, and Results throughout the hotel.
  • Partner with Sales and Revenue Management to maximize occupancy, ADR, and profitability.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing leaders and team members.
  • Maintain a strong presence throughout the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and service standards.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and expense controls to achieve financial goals.
  • Ensure the property is well-maintained, safe, and compliant with Hilton and Avion Hospitality standards.
  • Actively engage with guests, employees, ownership, and community partners to strengthen relationships and drive results.
  • Lead the hotel through its transition to Avion Hospitality while creating excitement and momentum for the future.
