About The Position

Voodoo Doughnut is searching for a passionate and dynamic General Manager to lead their Fulton Market location in Chicago, IL. This role offers the opportunity to build and shape the brand's presence in a new market, deliver the iconic Voodoo Doughnut experience, and hire and train a new team. The General Manager will also be responsible for creating and executing a marketing plan, developing relationships with local businesses, and making strategic decisions. The position comes with the autonomy to own the store's success and foster a culture of excellence, supported by the Voodoo Doughnut leadership team.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of restaurant management or bakery production experience
• Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
• Proven ability to create and execute successful marketing plans
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit
• Able to read and react to P/L
• Experience with ordering and inventory systems
• Understand how to run a guest-focused business
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as needed
• Reliable transportation
• Able to handle physical requirements such as lifting heavy objects and working with cleaning chemicals
• 4+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the food or hospitality industry
• Strong business acumen, with experience managing budgets and financial performance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for great doughnuts and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
• A strong work ethic, with the ability to manage competing priorities and make decisions quickly and decisively

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a team of doughnut makers and service staff
• Develop and execute marketing plans to drive sales and grow brand awareness
• Manage financial performance, including sales, labor, food, and operating expenses
• Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards
• Analyze financial data to make informed business decisions
• Create a culture of excellence, emphasizing guest service and quality products
• Foster a positive work environment, providing coaching and feedback to team members
• Communicate effectively with the Voodoo Doughnut team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Hiring and training a new team of doughnut makers and service staff
• Creating and executing a marketing plan to drive traffic to the store
• Developing relationships with local businesses and organizations to increase brand awareness
