About The Position

The General Manager will champion a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment, ensuring all business and personnel practices comply with the law and company policies. This role directs and coordinates daily 3PL warehouse activities to meet and exceed customer expectations for shipping and receiving quality and accuracy. The General Manager will develop and execute business plans, budgets, and goals, reviewing progress regularly and interpreting financial and operational data to inform decisions and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost reduction. Operational excellence is key, managing day-to-day facility activities, establishing continuous-improvement programs using Lean and Six Sigma principles, and overseeing inventory and quality control. People leadership is crucial, providing coaching, mentoring, training, and professional development to equip managers and staff for success, while also managing performance evaluations and fostering an inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five (5) years previous work experience in high-paced warehouse environment.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office to include Outlook, Excel, Access and Word.
  • Ability to master internal computer systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Green Belt a plus
  • Forklift Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Champions a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment across the facility.
  • Ensures all business and personnel practices comply with the law and with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs all duties in conformance with applicable safety and security standards.
  • Directs and coordinates daily 3PL warehouse activities so that the quality and accuracy of shipping and receiving meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Responds quickly and positively to customer concerns, resolving potential problems before they affect the customer.
  • Communicates daily with the customer to understand service needs and implements the processes and procedures required to meet them.
  • Develops and executes business plans, budgets, and goals with corporate and customer representatives.
  • Reviews progress against the business plan, budget, and goals with corporate, customers, and staff on a regular basis.
  • Interprets financial and operational data to inform decisions and identify opportunities to grow revenue and reduce cost.
  • Monitors costs and quality controls to maintain and enhance profitability.
  • Recommends capital expenditures for equipment that increase the efficiency and service level of the facility.
  • Partners with company and customer officials on the development and implementation of policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Manages the day-to-day activities of the facility, ensuring work is accomplished by managers and supervisors in line with corporate policies and objectives.
  • Establishes ongoing continuous-improvement programs, applying Lean and Six Sigma principles where applicable.
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures with the Operations team and monitors their effectiveness.
  • Develops and monitors productivity standards.
  • Oversees inventory control, quality control, and damage reduction.
  • Ensures appropriate policies, procedures, and SOPs are adhered to by all Team Members and managers.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and productive operation and conducts regular staff meetings.
  • Provides leadership through coaching, mentoring, training, personnel selection, and professional development, equipping managers and staff to achieve customer goals and objectives.
  • Ensures development and implementation of professional development plans for Team Members, supervisors, and managers.
  • Manages, mentors, and motivates supervisory personnel in addressing Team Member concerns, complaints, and developmental needs.
  • Conducts performance evaluations and administers corrective and progressive discipline as required.
  • Negotiates resolutions to workplace conflicts and fosters an inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds can succeed.
