About The Position

The General Manager has full accountability for plant operations and P&L performance while driving operational excellence, profitability, and scalable growth. This role leads cross‑functional teams to meet customer delivery, cost, quality, and contractual requirements while executing strategic initiatives focused on continuous improvement, capacity expansion, automation, and cost discipline. The GM partners closely with senior leadership to translate enterprise strategy into operational execution, ensuring KPI targets are met across safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and financial performance.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years progressive operations leadership (aerospace manufacturing strongly preferred)
  • Proven P&L ownership and KPI‑driven performance delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Deep experience with Lean, 6S, CI systems, KPI deployment, and safety leadership

Responsibilities

  • Own all daily plant operations with direct accountability for P&L performance
  • Drive execution of daily KPIs, operational reviews, and performance management
  • Lead capacity planning to support ~50% YoY growth (internal operations and outside services)
  • Ensure on‑time delivery, smooth production flow, and effective vendor management
  • Act as a customer‑facing leader for delinquency reduction and NPI support
  • Maintain operational rigor while planning for future growth and scaling needs
  • Champion a strong safety‑first culture across all operations
  • Ensure robust quality systems aligned with aerospace/manufacturing standards
  • Deploy and sustain 6S discipline, standard work, and visual management
  • Embed corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes and verify effectiveness
  • Drive Kaizen events, workflow optimization, and standard work enhancements
  • Leverage automation and technology to improve productivity and consistency
  • Develop performance dashboards and use data to drive fact‑based decisions
  • Full P&L accountability with focus on sales, EBIT, and cost control
  • Manage fixed and variable costs with disciplined resource allocation
  • Develop and execute multi‑year capital plans aligned with growth and ROI
  • Oversee vendor contracts, pricing, and procurement performance
  • Lead, mentor, and hold leaders accountable for departmental performance
  • Build strong bench strength in safety leadership, CI ownership, and KPI literacy
  • Drive a culture of accountability, operational discipline, and continuous learning
  • Contribute to executive‑level strategic planning
  • Translate business strategy into executable operational roadmaps
  • Support scaling, expansion, and new product introductions
  • Integrate capacity, quality, safety, CI, and capital planning into one operating system
