About The Position

Serves as the on-site management and leader of an Import Distribution Center (IDC). Responsible for the execution of all functions at the facility, including the daily, weekly, and annual operational planning and execution to meet distribution center and store service requirements. Recruits, trains, and manages up to 250 employee workforce on multiple shifts. Assists associates with HR related issues including questions/concerns with attendance, pay, benefits, job changes, voluntary terminations, I-9 verification, unemployment claims, and workplace accommodations. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, and retains effective shift management teams. In conjunction with HR, develops, implements, and measures the effectiveness of associate training programs. Evaluates staffing needs to meet daily demand; works with the Operations Managers and Supervisors to move personnel to meet the daily priorities and inventory flow; monitors regularly and makes adjustments as needed. Communicates effectively with Operations Managers and Supervisors regarding business objectives, safety issues, current issues, upcoming events, and demand for the day. Sets Operations Managers and Supervisors up for success to achieve or exceed key performance indicators, safety, performance, and budget targets. Manages relationships with the distribution centers, local community, suppliers to the facility, and corporate constituents of the facility. Develops and nurtures a positive, focused, and productive work environment for all team members. Ensures all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to and short- and long-term plans are implemented. Effective stewardship of Lowe’s corporate resources. Pursues professional growth and provides developmental opportunities for others by soliciting and acting on performance feedback. Builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships; hires, trains, and develops talent for growth opportunities. Delegates tasks and decisions; fosters open dialogue amongst team members. Works closely with employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement. Manages designated work stream to meet customer and business needs by translating business plans into tactical action items. Aligns team efforts; builds accountability for and measures progress in achieving results. Identifies and addresses improvement opportunities and leads the entire facility through change. Ensures all safety policies and procedures are implemented and observed, and that equipment and work areas are neat, clean, and well organized.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Supply Chain Operations or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
  • 10+ years of operations experience in a large volume center environment
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with direct reports, including experience leading managers

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in customer service, retail, or call center
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (yellow belt or above)
