About The Position

MV Transportation is seeking a Fixed Route General Manager to support proposed business. The General Manager provides leadership and direction to an assigned operating location to ensure delivery of annual business plans. This role controls the daily operation of a transportation contract in compliance with the contracting agency’s policies and company procedures. The position also oversees customer relations, staffing, fleet availability, safety and training programs, operational performance, financial metrics, and labor and employee relations activities. Additional duties and responsibilities may be based on individual contract requirements.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent business management experience.
• Management experience.
• At least five years of experience within the past seven years as a manager responsible for supervising and operating a fixed-cost transit property or an operation of comparable size and scope.
• Expertise in labor or union negotiations and expenses.
• Full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, safety, and DOT and FTA compliance.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High degree of multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach programs.
• Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff.
• Communicate frequently and effectively with location staff and support team members.
• Oversee the vehicle maintenance plan and ensure fleet availability meets service requirements.
• Oversee safety and training programs, plans, and processes to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain routine client contact to meet or exceed expectations.
• Conduct periodic departmental audits.
• Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Continuously manage location financial metrics, report exceptions, and develop action plans to meet financial, safety, and operational expectations.
• Implement, promote, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Participate in location labor and employee relations activities.
• Provide insight and information to support locations.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities based on individual contract requirements.
