About The Position

The DH Pace Company is seeking a General Manager for its well-established and growing door business in Columbus, OH. This role involves leading operations, assessing and implementing procedural changes, fostering team building, increasing sales and profitability, and ensuring high customer service levels. The General Manager will oversee existing customer projects and drive revenue growth in new construction, aftermarket, and service work for DH Pace Company, Inc. and Capital Door Solutions. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for staff development, customer service, relationship building, and driving operational changes that impact the bottom line.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience managing personnel, projects, sales, customer service expectations, operational revenues, expenses, and reporting in a leadership position.
  • Commercial door industry management applicants with strong operational experience and product knowledge are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Service provider industry experience such as HVAC or another construction/building materials business with products sold to end users, installed, and/or serviced at customer sites will also be considered.
  • Proficient with Windows-based programs and ERP/CRM systems, with a good understanding/use of Excel.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate operational data, processes, procedures, financial results, survey feedback, and other metrics to determine cause/effect relationships and the impact of changes.
  • Ability for technical applications and mechanical systems.
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
  • Successful completion of references, employment verifications, background check, and drug screen required in advance of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Willingness and availability to train in St. Louis, MO, Bloomington, IL, Kansas City, and/or another satellite market of Kansas City for up to three (3) times, one week per trip, during the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions with full P&L responsibility.
  • Make appropriate recommendations for operational and sales procedural/process improvement changes and implement them to increase customer satisfaction, profit margins, and return on sales.
  • Leverage operations/process improvement expertise to guide and mentor personnel, becoming a trusted resource for operational assistance and advice.
  • Assist with employee/job scheduling and technical/mechanical troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure staff adhere to company best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize division financial reports and metrics for daily operations management.
  • Hire, train, and develop new employees; improve individual performance through coaching, P&L and Scorecard reviews, and annual performance reviews.
  • Effectively lead meetings, set performance expectations, and hold employees accountable.
  • Maintain professional communication with personnel and customers, and timely resolve personnel matters and escalated customer concerns.
