About The Position

Clark’s Oyster Bar, part of MML Hospitality, is seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven General Manager to lead our Menlo Park, California location. Known for exceptional oysters, martinis, lobster rolls, champagne, and warm, polished service, Clark’s has become a neighborhood destination for both locals and visitors alike. Located in the heart of Menlo Park, the restaurant features approximately 100 seats, including a private dining room, and delivers an energetic, upscale dining experience rooted in genuine hospitality. We are looking for a strong operator and team leader who can step into an established restaurant, continue building team culture, drive financial performance, and uphold the hospitality standards that define the Clark’s brand. As General Manager, you will oversee all front-of-house operations and partner closely with culinary and beverage leadership to ensure exceptional execution across every aspect of the guest experience. This role is responsible for leading daily operations, developing managers and hourly team members, maintaining service standards, and driving operational and financial performance. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced hospitality environments, leads with accountability and presence, and understands how to balance elevated service with efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive restaurant management experience in California
  • Experience in upscale, boutique, or high-volume hospitality environments preferred
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Solid understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, and cost controls
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-focused environment
  • English fluency required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred

  • Spanish fluency is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations
  • Hire, train, mentor, and develop front-of-house managers and hourly team members
  • Foster a culture centered on hospitality, professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
  • Maintain and elevate service standards while ensuring an exceptional guest experience
  • Partner with culinary and beverage leadership to ensure smooth and consistent operations
  • Manage scheduling, labor controls, inventory, and operating costs
  • Oversee P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and company standards
  • Support private dining operations and community engagement initiatives
  • Act as a leader and ambassador for the Clark’s and MML Hospitality brands
