About The Position

Champions Group is building a standing bench of General Manager talent to lead residential HVAC, Plumbing, and/or Electrical businesses across their operating footprint. This is not a training program, but a proactive identification of strong leaders who will be matched to a General Manager seat as soon as one becomes available. The role offers the resources and support of a national platform with the autonomy to run a market like an independent business. The specific market location will be determined based on openings and candidate fit, requiring relocation flexibility across states including California, Nevada, Washington, Arizona, Texas, Ohio, and Colorado. Candidates will receive mentorship from existing GMs and structured onboarding to ensure success.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years leading a team (Service Manager, Install Manager, Sales Manager, or similar) in residential HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, or another home-services trade, with experience running full center operations.
  • Current General Manager experience, often at a brand under $20M in revenue, looking to scale up on a larger platform.
  • Working knowledge of field service principles, including labor forecasting, dispatching, price/hour estimation, and workforce scheduling.
  • Comfort with CRM/ERP and dispatch platforms; ServiceTitan experience is a plus.
  • Sound financial judgment, including comfort with owning a budget and accountability for gross profit and growth.
  • Full flexibility to relocate to one of their operating markets.

Responsibilities

  • Own full P&L and operational performance for the branch, including revenue, margin, labor productivity, and customer experience.
  • Lead department managers (service, install, sales, dispatch/CSR) and their teams of technicians and support staff.
  • Set local market strategy, including pricing, marketing spend, and competitive positioning, in partnership with platform leadership.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top field and office talent.
  • Analyze branch scorecards and translate data into actionable strategies for pricing, marketing spend, technician productivity, and customer experience.
