About The Position

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the store. This role oversees daily operations, sales performance, inventory management, customer satisfaction, and employee development while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The General Manager is accountable for driving sales growth, controlling expenses, and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of retail or wholesale sales management experience.
  • Experience leading multiple operational functions, including sales, inventory, customer service, and employee management.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Building materials or lumber industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the store to ensure efficient, safe, and profitable business performance.
  • Recruit, train, coach, develop, and supervise store employees to maximize productivity, engagement, and retention.
  • Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Drive sales growth by developing the team, executing company sales strategies, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Meet or exceed established sales, profitability, and operational goals.
  • Manage the store's operating budget by monitoring revenue, controlling expenses, and improving overall profitability.
  • Resolve customer concerns and employee issues promptly, professionally, and in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and safeguard company assets through effective inventory management and loss prevention practices.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, well-maintained, and merchandised to company standards.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities to improve the overall customer experience and increase customer loyalty.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Analyze operational and sales reports to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and other departments to achieve company objectives and support strategic initiatives.
