About The Position

Common Oaks Lodging, a division of Concord Hospitality, is seeking an experienced hotel leader to manage the soon-to-open StudioRes Marriott Piscataway NJ in September 2026. The General Manager will function as the primary strategic business leader of the property, responsible for all aspects of operation, including general property performance, sales and marketing strategy, profitability, revenue generation, and leading the team in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies. This role also acts as a steward for reinforcing StudioRes Marriott culture and supports the implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives to meet or exceed guest expectations and develop strong associate teams.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience managing full, limited or select service properties (Extended Stay preferred).
• Experience with Revenue Management and LightSpeed.
• Professional communication skills, oral and written.
• Actively supervises, motivates, and assists with disciplining employees.
• Assists with hiring and training of all new employees.
• Ability to work in a high-energy and demand environment.
• Organization and leadership skills.
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills and is a team player.
• Works well under pressure.
• Can effectively solve problems.
• Minimum three years related hospitality management experience required.
• Ability to read and speak the English language and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to effectively communicate professionally with guests, associates, supervisors, and others as required for optimum operation of the property.

Nice To Haves

• 4-year degree highly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computers and software including ability to use e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to organize multiple projects; manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage and direct a staff to perform daily job tasks.
• Conversational Spanish would be beneficial.
• Organized, detailed oriented and able to lead a winning team of passionate and service driven hospitality professionals.

• Versed in sales activities as well as excellent customer service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Verify that service programs are in place and executed against.
• Provide timely, real-time feedback to management and hourly associates on service and operational standards.
• Review and follow-up on property GSS scores and comments.
• Create and support clear lines of responsibility for the management team, including coverage and oversight throughout the day.
• Walk the property to ensure public spaces, grounds, work and kitchen areas meet sanitation and cleanliness/maintenance standards.
• Manage the flow of labor between departments to support effective management of the Labor Budget and achievement of profitability goals.
• Delegate responsibilities for operations and projects to the appropriate level of associate.
• Prepare for QA audits.
• Understand and leverage sales and marketing advantages over competitor properties within the market.
• Coach and reinforce associate selling strategies that take advantage of property amenities.
• Develop innovative means for capturing new streams of revenue through property amenities.
• Measure, analyze, and communicate property performance using a variety of financial/non-financial data.
• Manage on-property controllable costs associated with rooms, housekeeping, events, and food and beverage operations.
• Maintain Revenue Management Goals.
• Consolidate reports needed for period-end review.
• Review and work with appropriate revenue management reports.
• Keep brand leadership team and owners updated on property performance.
• Prepare and present reports for owners and above property leadership using financial/performance data.
• Conduct annual business reviews.
• Participate in ad hoc owner conference calls and respond appropriately to owner requests.
• Conduct performance review process for associates.
• Manage ongoing development of managers.
• Cascade/Deliver training to associates.
• Conduct day-to-day Human Resource transactions to support the needs of the property.
• Facilitate on-property activities that communicate and reinforce Residence Inn culture with associates.
