About The Position

Colorado Springs Flea Market is seeking an experienced, hands-on, results-driven Market General Manager to lead the overall success of one of Colorado's largest and most established marketplace destinations. This executive leadership role is responsible for all aspects of market operations, including revenue growth, vendor occupancy, food & beverage performance, facilities management, expense control, employee development, customer experience, and community engagement. The General Manager serves as the senior leader of the market and is accountable for creating an exceptional experience for buyers, sellers, guests, and team members while driving sustainable business growth. The General Manager is the face of the market and plays a critical role in shaping operational excellence, seller success, employee engagement, and long-term profitability. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a complex operation that combines retail, entertainment, hospitality, events, facilities management, and community outreach. We are seeking a dynamic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing people, solving problems, building relationships, and driving business results. Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience in retail, hospitality, business operations, entertainment, event management, property management, or related customer-focused industries.
  • Proven success managing teams, budgets, operational performance, and customer service initiatives.
  • Experience leading large-scale public-facing operations.
  • Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze and understand sales reports, operating metrics, income statements, balance sheets, and financial performance indicators.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Valid Driver's License (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, develop, and retain high-performing team members.

  • Develop strong relationships with current and prospective sellers.
  • Lead efforts to increase vendor occupancy and maximize space utilization throughout the market.
  • Maintain a high level of seller satisfaction through proactive communication and problem resolution.
  • Partner with vendors to support promotions, events, and business growth initiatives.
  • Oversee Food & Beverage operations to ensure profitability, quality, cleanliness, and exceptional guest service.
  • Monitor sales performance, labor utilization, inventory controls, and operating expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, food handling, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and enhance the guest experience through menu offerings, promotions, and operational improvements.
  • Support the development and performance of Food & Beverage leadership and team members.
  • Oversee the maintenance and appearance of all facilities, grounds, parking areas, common spaces, and customer-facing areas.
  • Ensure the market maintains a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for guests, vendors, and employees.
  • Coordinate facility improvements, preventative maintenance programs, repairs, and capital projects.
  • Protect company assets through proper maintenance, operational controls, and risk management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Create and maintain a best-in-class service culture for buyers, sellers, and employees.
  • Professionally resolve customer and seller concerns with urgency, fairness, and professionalism.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for Colorado Springs Flea Market within the local community.
  • Build strong relationships with local businesses, community organizations, schools, and civic leaders.
  • Represent the market and United Flea Markets positively in all interactions.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to develop and execute creative marketing campaigns, promotions, and special events.
  • Lead community outreach initiatives designed to increase attendance and market awareness.
  • Coordinate events, entertainment, seasonal promotions, and community programs that drive traffic and revenue.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships that strengthen the market's reputation and visibility.
  • Support business development efforts focused on attracting new vendors, sponsors, and customers.
  • Maintain regular communication with company leadership and corporate support teams.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure consistency, accountability, and operational alignment.
  • Utilize feedback, operational data, and performance metrics to develop action plans and drive results.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making, sound judgment, and a sense of urgency when addressing business challenges.
