About The Position

Mossy Auto Group, one of Southern California's premier automotive organizations, is seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead one of our high-performing dealerships. We are seeking a visionary leader with a proven track record of driving sales, profitability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction who can lead a proficient workforce to meet or exceed sales forecasts and objectives, gross, and net profit goals along with customer satisfaction. Employees in this position will be paid a base salary, plus commissions. Commission amounts vary based on performance, with the expected average annual earning in this position of $325,000 to $611,000. Requirements

  • Successful experience as an Automotive General Manager or high-volume General Sales Manager
  • A proven history of growing sales and increasing profitability
  • Outstanding leadership, coaching, and team-building skills

  • Leadership and people skills that contribute to effective communication in managerial responsibilities
  • General Manager or General Sales Manager at High Volume Dealership Experience is required
  • Proven track record of achieving goals

  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic
  • Must be an overachiever who is focused, creative, competitive with a positive attitude/high-energy personality
  • Clean driving record/ valid CA driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Driving sales, profitability, and market share
  • Leading and developing high-performing department managers and teams
  • Creating an exceptional customer experience that builds lifelong loyalty
  • Monitoring KPIs and implementing strategies that consistently exceed performance goals
  • Ensuring operational excellence across every department
  • Promote an understanding of and strong commitment to client satisfaction and to the Mossy Team
  • Plan and implement successful dealership operations
  • Maintain CSI at or above company standards
  • Assess the operations of all dealership departments to improve performance and set profitability goals and objectives
  • Oversee and work with department managers to improve operations, performance, and profitability
  • Oversee training and supervision of all dealership employees; along with hiring and discipline
  • Meet daily with department managers to review prior day performance, prevalent decisions, issues of concern, and to service daily objectives
  • Maintain strong working relationship with manufacturer and lending institutions
  • Establish and/or approve policies and procedures to ensure dealership operations comply with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Encourage compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Serve as an effective dealership representative to community
  • Attend monthly financial statement review to discuss the results and implications of the financial statements
  • Conduct monthly operating plan meetings to review the previous month's performance relative to objectives and to review and approve MOP for upcoming month
  • Handle client complaints and interactions in an attempt to maintain longevity of client relationships while maintaining the integrity and interest of Mossy
  • Conduct daily dealership walk-throughs to maintain operational excellence, engage with employees, and remain connected to day-to-day activities
  • Meet weekly with team managers, sales consultants, finance managers, service manager, parts manager and business manager to review and evaluate the performance of the departments, teams, and individuals, to determine progress relative to objectives and to discuss all other areas of concern
