About The Position

The General Manager operates equipment; stocks ingredients and supplies; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes related paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility. The role also delivers products and marketing materials to customers and delivery locations. Orientation and on-the-job training are provided.

The position involves working in a food-service setting, including exposure to changing temperatures, food odors, dust, hot equipment, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Work includes standing, walking, handling ingredients and tools, and completing paperwork. Physical duties include lifting deliveries weighing up to 60 pounds, carrying products, pushing or pulling loaded trays, bending, reaching, and occasionally climbing stairs or ladders. Delivery work involves driving within a designated area and carrying orders while walking and climbing, potentially including five or more flights of stairs.

Requirements

• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise, rapid movements and use hands continuously during the day.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record that meets company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multistory buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
• Ability to perform the described physical tasks, including lifting deliveries weighing up to 60 pounds and climbing stairs during deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and stock ingredients from delivery areas, storage areas, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products.
• Receive and process telephone orders and communicate with customers and co-workers in person and by phone.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility, approximately daily.
• Unload deliveries using a hand truck and move cases and supplies to shelves.
• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers, doorhangers, and other marketing materials.
• Navigate delivery locations, including buildings, private homes, and other sites.
