About The Position

Sunset helps venture-backed startups manage end-to-end dissolution, including related legal, tax, and operational challenges. As General Manager, you will own the full P&L and lead the Sunset business across product, operations, and client success. You will be responsible for scaling the business while maintaining a world-class customer experience, with autonomy to make improvements that grow the business, increase margins, and strengthen its market position. The role is described as an opportunity to act as the de-facto CEO of an operating, venture-backed startup.

Requirements

• Be excited to build in person five days a week from the company’s Dumbo office.
• Demonstrate striving for world-class performance in some area of life.
• Have been a founder or general manager of an entire product line.
• Build things personally with AI, such as workflows, automations, or reporting, rather than only briefing someone else.
• Be willing to test new hypotheses rather than being set in established ways and biases.
• Be able to interpret results and determine what is working.

Nice To Haves

• Experience marketing or selling to startups.
• Familiarity with M&A, distressed assets, or legal frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own Sunset’s P&L.
• Define the overall strategy and objectives to grow the product line tenfold.
• Manage the current team of 10 or more.
• Improve the product, automations, and agentic capabilities to reduce manual processes and effort.
