The General Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, store standards and cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager must set an example by following all policies and procedures and expecting the same from the crew. The role also includes the general duties performed by store team members, such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning the equipment and facility. Orientation and training are provided on the job. The posting also describes delivery duties: delivering products by car to customers, distributing flyers and door hangers, and navigating the designated delivery area. Delivery requires a valid driver's license and safe driving record, as well as access to an insured vehicle that can be used for work. The role involves customer and coworker communication, order entry by keyboard or touch screen, basic arithmetic and making change, and the ability to direct activities and make decisions under stress. Work conditions may include adverse weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces such as walk-in coolers, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Physical activities may include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, bending, crouching, reaching, and hand-eye tasks. Delivery work may require carrying food and beverages, walking between the store, vehicle, and customer locations, and climbing five or more flights of stairs. The position requires far and night vision for driving.
