Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with auction and automotive experience OR High School diploma/GED with at least 5 years auction experience and 5 years automotive of similar work experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership/supervisory experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
  • Confidentiality and integrity while handling sensitive information
  • Proven ability to manage deliverables and metrics against aggressive targets and timelines
  • Proficiency with computer systems and applications
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets requirements
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for business growth by meeting with customers and attending sales visits.
  • Ensure customers receive prompt, efficient, and courteous attention.
  • Act as a change champion for the site, ensuring successful adaptation of change initiatives and proper follow-through on directives.
  • Maintain strong communication with Corporate Office, Regional Director, key internal contacts, and external contacts.
  • Attend Profit and Loss Statement reviews and ensure accurate reconciliation of accounting with corporate reports.
  • Initiate and follow up on accounting discrepancies and monitor accounts receivable.
  • Control payroll and business expenses to support financial objectives.
  • Monitor KPIs and leverage available technology and tools to develop and implement action plans for improvement.
  • Handle customer disputes and resolve complaints in a friendly and courteous manner, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Identify, hire, train, and mentor management for the auction.
  • Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding initiatives.
  • Promote, develop, and train all employees according to company guidelines.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and morale through sound leadership and human relations principles.
  • Set a good personal example of attitude and performance.
  • Communicate employee relations problems to the Regional Vice President and Human Resource team.
  • Take positive, consistent, disciplinary action on infractions of company policies.
  • Prepare and conduct performance appraisals for direct report employees and support the team's appraisal process.
  • Conduct employee meetings to communicate company and department issues and build teamwork.
  • Account for and identify all auction inventory, monitor unusual activity, and notify appropriate teams.
  • Monitor and control all site-related conditions, vehicles, property, and equipment according to corporate standards for cleanliness, maintenance, and safety.
  • Advise Maintenance of all breakdowns and ensure preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure department area conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety.
  • Respond to and follow proper procedures for accidents, injuries, and property damage, reporting all incidents immediately.
  • Ensure functional specifications are sound and efficient.
  • Practice and instruct employees in proper loss prevention and reaction procedures.
  • Account for and identify all keys, codes, or other safety/security information.
  • Direct proper record keeping and follow-through on sales promotions, advertising, and telemarketing.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with sale plan layouts, corporate requirements, and agreements.
  • Advise and assist with corrective procedures if needed.
  • Initiate and complete accurate vehicle transfers.
  • Ensure the use of marketing tools on selected customer accounts.
  • Ensure company driving safety standards are met and substance abuse prevention procedures are followed.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, and state and federal laws are followed at all times.
  • Ensure no company or customer information is inappropriately divulged.
