About The Position

ADESA, a Carvana owned company, is seeking a Custodian to join their team. This role involves performing regular cleaning and light maintenance for all auction buildings. ADESA operates over 50 locations across the US, with auto auctions that offer vehicle services like repair, reconditioning, and remarketing. The Custodian will report to the Facilities Manager or a designated manager and must adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Requirements

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Previous Custodian or Janitorial experience.
Experience with cleaning equipment.
Experience and knowledge in PPE, Chemical, and SDS.
Qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Passing a complete background check is required for hiring.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service by ensuring prompt, efficient, and courteous attention to customers.
Maintain a professional appearance, an orderly work environment, and a friendly disposition.
Resolve customer complaints in a friendly and courteous manner, and report serious complaints or incidents to management.
Perform cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming common areas, offices, restrooms, kitchen/cafeteria areas, and auction block areas.
Remove and dispose of trash and debris from all areas within the auction buildings.
Clean restrooms daily and replenish supplies.
Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas daily, including wiping counters and sweeping/mopping floors.
Clean auction block areas weekly, including trash removal, dusting, and vacuuming.
Wash windows in common areas as needed.
Ensure entrance and areas outside of sales arenas are free of debris before sales.
Perform any other cleaning and custodial duties as directed by management.
Replenish supplies for assigned areas.
Monitor inventory of janitorial supplies and report needed items to the Facility Manager.
Inform the Facility Manager of equipment breakdowns and necessary maintenance.
Monitor restrooms and kitchen areas during sales to ensure they are fully stocked.
