About The Position

MEI Industrial Solutions is a leading provider of rigging, machinery moving, millwrighting, mechanical installation, industrial storage, crating, and export packing services. The Regional Office General Manager in Jackson, MS, is responsible for providing leadership, management, and vision to ensure the regional office effectively grows its market share. This role also ensures financial strength and operating efficiency, aligning with company objectives. The General Manager oversees teams in sales, project management, EHS, operations, rigging, millwrighting, metal fabrication, and logistics, ensuring all locations meet or exceed targets for finance, safety, customer satisfaction, and operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Project or Construction Management, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of proven general operations management experience, preferably within the construction, industrial services, or related industry.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of proven financial experience and responsibility, including job costing and profit and loss for a fully contained operation/business unit (office/branch/large project/product line).
  • Highly developed skill in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications and other business software (such as financial operations/CRM) as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and is insurable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, direct, and be accountable for the operational effectiveness by providing guidance to the regional office operations, sales, and administrative staff.
  • Appraise the effectiveness of operations, including short and long-term financial, safety, and operational initiatives, goals, and objectives.
  • Actively and continually foster MEI’s Safety culture by training and developing the team and working effectively and collaboratively with EH&S leadership.
  • Manage office/operations financials, including budgeting, accounts receivables & payables, job costing, assets, and profitability, in concert with the corporate office.
  • Coach and mentor sales, participate in job walks, assist with customer bids/estimates, accurately price projects, and set/manage sales expectations.
  • Hire, coach, train, and manage the performance of sales, operations leadership, crews, and administrative team by providing oversight, direction, and support.
  • Travel for client site meetings, management of dispatched crews, corporate functions, and leadership meetings.
  • Report to the Regional Vice President and routinely collaborate with the key functional executive (C-suite) team.
