About The Position

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all Sky Café catering operations, ensuring the efficient production, handling, and delivery of in-flight catering services. This role focuses on managing kitchen operations, logistics, food safety, and client service to meet airline and customer expectations. The General Manager partners with internal teams and airline clients to ensure service quality, compliance, and operational excellence while driving financial performance and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
  • 3+ years of experience in catering, food service, logistics, or operations management
  • Leadership experience managing teams in a high-volume production or service environment
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
  • Experience with inventory control, budgeting, and operational planning
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (if applicable to role duties)
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all catering operations, including food production, assembly, sanitation, and transportation logistics
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of catering services to airline clients
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, food quality, and service standards
  • Lead and manage kitchen, warehouse, and transportation teams, including supervisors and leads
  • Monitor performance metrics related to on-time delivery, quality, safety, and cost control
  • Partner with airline clients to maintain service expectations and resolve operational issues
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards (FDA, USDA, local health regulations) and company policies
  • Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and cost controls for catering operations
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance of the operation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in production, logistics, and service delivery
  • Handle operational disruptions, including last-minute order changes and service recovery
  • Support hiring, training, and performance management of team members
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability across all catering operations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
