About The Position

The Halperns' General Manager leads and manages the strategic vision of our Atlanta, GA facility toward continual, aggressive business growth. They will support Halperns' culture in rapidly changing regional markets.

Requirements

  • Understanding of core financial trends and performance metrics - sales, margin, expenses, earnings, etc. and business acumen
  • Financial Statements - understand Income Statements, Capital requests and planning, monthly General Ledger, etc.
  • Knowledge of and ability to develop strategic and long term planning
  • Ability to make difficult decisions , with ultimate accountability
  • Ability to identify talent, assess performance, develop and grow employees and determine successors
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse people groups (ie. Warehouse, Trans, Sales, Finance, et..).
  • Has inspiring and influential communication and presentation skills with all levels of individuals at customers, suppliers, and GFS
  • Ability to Build Direct Relationships will all employees - motivating, inspiring, coaching, and creating an open door environment; exhibits servant leadership
  • Promotes an environment of cultural diversity
  • Accessible and visible to day shift and night shift teams throughout the division
  • Basic computer skills such as creating presentations, spreadsheet analysis, business writing skills, teleconferencing, etc.
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Required to provide most recent employment experience for application to be considered complete.

Responsibilities

  • Develops Annual Operating Plan (AOP) in alignment with division and corporate objectives
  • Maintains AOP and reacts and adjusts based on market conditions
  • Participates in corporate Long Range Planning (LRP) by providing market trends and opportunities
  • Understands the key business drivers and can provide support and direction in all areas of the business including: Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Warehousing, Transportation, and Marketing
  • Interviews, hires, trains, and retains staff.
  • Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiating follow-through with disciplinary action and termination in consultation with Human Resources when appropriate for the department.
  • Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and serves as a role model and resource.
  • Is visible to, and engaged in, all areas of the organization
  • Works with Home Office to leverage resources and break down barriers
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
