About The Position

A successful and growing used vehicle operation in Utah County is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Automotive General Manager to take full ownership of dealership performance, profitability, people, and day-to-day operations. This is not an entry-level management opportunity. We are looking for a proven automotive General Manager who understands the used vehicle business from the ground up and knows how to buy inventory, manage turn, drive gross, lead a sales organization, control expenses, develop managers, and produce results. If you are currently running a dealership and are ready for your next opportunity, we want to have a confidential conversation. This role is for a dealership operator. We aren't looking for someone who simply holds the GM title. We're looking for someone who knows the numbers, knows the inventory, knows how to lead people and knows how to produce results.

Requirements

• Automotive General Manager experience is REQUIRED.
• Proven experience as a General Manager within an automotive dealership
• Strong used vehicle operational experience
• Demonstrated history of driving sales volume and profitability
• Strong understanding of inventory acquisition, aging, pricing and turn
• Excellent knowledge of dealership financial statements and KPIs
• Proven ability to lead managers and build successful teams
• Strong understanding of variable operations and F&I
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills
• A hands-on, accountable leadership style
• Ability to operate at a high level in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Lead all dealership operations and departments
• Drive monthly sales volume, gross profit and overall profitability
• Oversee used vehicle inventory, acquisition, pricing, aging and turn
• Monitor market conditions and maintain the right inventory mix
• Manage and develop sales and finance leadership
• Establish and maintain performance expectations and accountability
• Review dealership KPIs, financial performance and operating expenses
• Recruit, train, coach and retain high-performing team members
• Ensure exceptional customer experience and reputation
• Identify opportunities to increase market share and profitability
• Create a competitive, accountable and results-driven culture
• Take complete ownership of dealership performance
