About The Position

This position assists with the overall management of maintenance operations. The General Manager Maintenance is responsible for managing maintenance supervisors and overseeing all designated shift operations while complying with USDA and OSHA requirements and company policies. This role involves determining manpower needs, assisting with expense control, and preparing/maintaining accurate records and reports. The position also requires collaboration with department heads to meet production, quality, and yield goals, and ensuring competence in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security. Key responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing, and monitoring work, as well as appraising performance, rewarding, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members, and resolving complaints and issues. The role requires knowledge of HACCP, Safety, Security, Sanitation, Quality, Yields, costs, and efficiencies, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving and effective follow-up. Standard computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The role will oversee scales, PLC, and IT items.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of related industry experience
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferably in a meat processing facility
  • Knowledge of OSHA USDA and HACCP regulations
  • Standard computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
