About The Position

The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of the location to achieve maximum sales and profits with available resources. This role oversees the overall sales (professional and retail), operations, production, delivery, purchasing, and inventory control of the location, including daily operations and inventory control programs. The position involves recruiting, hiring, training, and motivating employees to reduce turnover and increase profits, while also training successor management. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving wage increases, establishing objectives and performance measures, recommending capital improvements, and instituting cost-effective vehicle and equipment maintenance programs. The role also involves reporting obsolete equipment/facilities, supporting company safety initiatives (OSHA and DOT compliance), enforcing company policies and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, acting as a liaison between employees and management, gathering customer satisfaction feedback, and managing budget accountability and reporting. This includes establishing standard costs, operating budgets, acceptable inventory levels, monitoring expenses, and creating methods to improve financial performance. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred
  • Four years related managerial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in building materials industry is preferred however will consider industry adjacent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall sales (professional and retail), operations, production, delivery, purchasing, and inventory control of the location.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the location.
  • Skilled in relevant functions and reports from the Online system.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of inventory control programs to meet location inventory levels and turns.
  • Involved in the recruiting, hiring, and training process.
  • Helps to create and enforce staffing measures that reduce employee turnover and help to increase company profits.
  • Motivates employees, maintains a productive workforce, and trains successor management.
  • Reviews and approves wage and salary increases and establishes objectives and performance measures.
  • Recommends capital improvements in view of forecasted demand for various products, efficiency of current equipment, etc.
  • Institutes a cost-effective vehicle and equipment maintenance program.
  • Reports obsolete equipment/facilities and submits recommendations regarding replacements or improvements.
  • Supports and reinforces company safety initiatives to ensure compliance with all OSHA and DOT requirements.
  • Communicates and enforces company policies and procedures, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, as they pertain to the daily functions of all departments.
  • Acts as a liaison between employees and management to foster a healthy work environment.
  • Obtains feedback on customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for budget accountability and reporting as it pertains to the financial goals of the company.
  • Works to establish standard cost, operating budgets, and acceptable inventory levels.
  • Monitors expenses and creates new methods to improve each location's financial performance.
  • Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise in various departments.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
