About The Position

DHL Supply Chain is seeking an experienced operational leader to lead a new startup warehouse operation in Wellford, South Carolina. The General Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the warehouse and for developing and implementing strategic processes that optimize operations. The role leads Operations Managers and staff, promotes a safe and productive work environment, and contributes to the overall success of DHL Supply Chain. The position oversees warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods; process optimization; team leadership; compliance; technology and performance monitoring; vendor relationships; reporting; and customer relationships. The General Manager is responsible for the site's profit and loss, which is directly influenced by customer relationships, and prepares and presents Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews to the customer. The organization has a business-casual environment focused on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

At least 5 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
At least 2 years of experience in a supply chain, warehousing, or distribution environment.
Staff management experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred.
Experience in Third Party Logistics (3PL) and/or Contract Logistics is preferred.
P&L management experience is preferred.
Project management experience is preferred.
Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.
Lead, motivate, coach, and support Operations Managers and staff while developing a strong team culture.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and oversee operational and personnel activities to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
Use warehouse management systems, automation, and other technology to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective services and supplies while operating the site in accordance with the commercial agreement.
Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Maintain close daily contact with customers to foster strong relationships and satisfaction.
Manage the site's profit and loss, which is directly influenced by customer relationships.
Prepare and present Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews to the customer, using strong team collaboration.
