About The Position

The General Manager of Cardiovascular & Women's Health is responsible for the strategic, operational, financial, and clinical support of the Cardiovascular and Women's Health service lines. This executive-level leader oversees multiple outpatient practices, drives operational excellence, improves patient access and provider productivity, and partners closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and executive leadership to achieve organizational goals. The General Manager will lead cross-functional initiatives focused on quality, patient satisfaction, financial performance, growth, and regulatory compliance while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience.
  • 5+ years managing ambulatory specialty care or multi-site physician practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong experience with operational and financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality initiatives, and ambulatory practice operations.
  • Experience using electronic medical record systems (eClinicalWorks preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree (MHA, MBA, MPH, MSN, or related field).
  • Experience in Cardiovascular Services, Cardiology, Women's Health, OB/GYN, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, or specialty physician practice management.
  • Experience with value-based care, population health, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Project Management certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall operational leadership for the Cardiovascular and Women's Health departments across multiple practice locations.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency, patient access, and provider productivity.
  • Standardize workflows and implement best practices across all locations.
  • Lead departmental managers and operational staff to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing models to support clinical operations and patient demand.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor departmental operating budgets.
  • Analyze financial performance, revenue, expenses, provider productivity, and key operational metrics.
  • Partner with Finance to develop forecasts, business plans, and growth strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, cost reduction, and operational efficiencies.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Collaborate with physician leadership and advanced practice providers to optimize clinic operations and patient flow.
  • Support provider recruitment, onboarding, retention, scheduling, and productivity initiatives.
  • Ensure operational readiness for new providers, locations, and service expansions.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand Cardiovascular and Women's Health services.
  • Identify opportunities for new programs, partnerships, and market expansion.
  • Lead operational planning for practice acquisitions, new sites, and service line growth.
  • Support value-based care and population health initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements, including CMS, Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies.
  • Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, and patient satisfaction scores.
  • Lead quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure readiness for audits, inspections, and accreditation activities.
  • Directly supervise operational managers and department leadership.
  • Mentor and develop high-performing teams through coaching and performance management.
  • Foster collaboration across clinical, administrative, and executive leadership.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Finance, Human Resources, Revenue Cycle, Credentialing, Quality, IT, Marketing, Facilities, and Clinical Leadership to support departmental success.
  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on operational excellence and patient experience.
  • Present operational updates, financial performance, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
