This role is responsible for the day-to-day operational and financial performance of the assigned station, monitoring performance against the plan and initiating corrective actions to improve results. The General Manager will review data on incoming flights such as scheduled or estimated times of arrival/departure, destinations and down line station stops, to plan operations. This role is also responsible for maintaining station facilities, equipment, and professional appearance standards for all UGE employees. The position requires a willingness and ability to work beyond scheduled times due to irregular operations and/or business needs. The General Manager will perform periodic inspections on filters, pumps, valves, tanks, pressure controls, metering and gauging equipment, and company vehicles. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Station controls and Internal Audit standards, investigating causes of accidents, and recommending safety measures for preventing further occurrences. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly work outside, in all weather conditions. The role also involves people leadership, setting a positive, accountable example for the station team to ensure excellent customer service, and maintaining a positive work environment, strong employee relations, and collaborative relationships. The General Manager will demonstrate a calm, direct demeanor during periods of high volume or irregular operations, provide coaching and direction to the station team to achieve operational goals, and maintain strong working relationships with OAL / airport authorities / vendors / union / governmental authorities (FAA/TSA/CBP)/internal divisions. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems, and ensuring employees successfully complete the company's training program. Additionally, the General Manager will manage the station budget, staffing forecasts, and resource requirements, ensure through definitive methods that product meets or exceeds quality standards set forth, ensure all work is completed in a timely manner, contributing to an efficient operation, while projecting a professional image, monitor local vendor performance including GSE maintenance, janitorial, etc., and prepare and submit recommendations designed to improve the efficiency of fueling services.
