About The Position

Sodexo is hiring a Custodial Manager for Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. This role is a critical leadership position responsible for delivering a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The position oversees daily custodial operations across multiple buildings and event spaces, ensuring exceptional service delivery and strong client partnership. The ideal candidate will have extensive custodial expertise in a campus setting, excel at proactive customer service, and possess the confidence and communication skills to interact with C-suite executives and senior campus leaders.

Requirements

  • Strong custodial management experience in a higher-education or large-campus environment, including COVID-response practices.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proactive mindset and the ability to anticipate client needs before they arise.
  • Confident presentation and communication skills, and technical aptitude with the full Microsoft Office Suite and Work order systems.
  • The ability to influence C-suite executives and senior campus stakeholders.
  • Experience leading diverse teams, fostering accountability, and building a positive, service-driven culture in a small community.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and operational planning abilities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 3 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily custodial operations across a large, multi-building university campus, ensuring consistent quality and safety.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management for frontline custodial teams, including non-union employees.
  • Implement and monitor Sodexo cleaning standards, quality assurance programs, and COVID-response protocols to maintain a healthy campus environment.
  • Partner closely with university leadership to support events, special projects, and evolving campus needs with a proactive, service-focused approach.
  • Track budgets, supply usage, and operational metrics to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage work orders in the CMMS SMS.
