About The Position

ASRC Federal Gulf State Constructors is seeking a General Maintenance Worker in support of our Sheppard AFB Base Operations Support Contract Located in Wichita Falls, TX. This role involves performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks including carpentry, basic sheet metal, basic electrical, basic plumbing, basic masonry, and basic lock repair. The worker will operate as part of SMART teams or independently to address maintenance and repair needs in dormitories, dining facilities, administrative facilities, and classrooms. Responsibilities may also include operating the Do-It-Now truck for emergency response and completing other assigned duties to support the customer and mission.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid State Driver’s License
• Five (5) years' experience in the building trades
• Ability to work extended periods of time, shift work, and on-call when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a US or Permanent Citizen due to contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry, electrical, plumbing, sheet metal, and repair basic locks and panic hardware.
• Execute full range carpentry duties including structural and finish carpentry, installation of wallboard, doors, windows, roofing material, flooring, flashings, siding, tile, masonry, cabinetry, vinyl and wood trim, and builder's hardware.
• Perform basic electrical tasks such as replacing electric light fixtures, receptacles, switches, motors, and running simple circuits.
• Conduct basic plumbing tasks including replacing flush valves, faucets, valves, repairing copper or plastic pipe, replacing garbage disposals, clearing clogged drains, and unstopping commodes.
• Perform masonry work such as installing, repairing, and patching concrete, ceramic tile, and masonry units. Concrete work may include pouring sidewalks, footings, and slabs.
• Undertake minor sheet metal work, such as adjusting overhead doors and fabricating and installing ducts and flashings.
• Make minor repairs to carpet or wall coverings.
• Perform minor touch-up painting.
