About The Position

Tessera is seeking a helpful and hardworking General Maintenance Worker with a positive attitude. This role is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment. The position requires assisting skilled workers in various trades, communicating with customers and supervisors, and ensuring work meets quality standards. The worker must be able to operate company vehicles and equipment, utilize mobile devices for record-keeping, and follow all safety procedures. Maintaining professionalism in appearance and demeanor is essential. This position is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated start date of August 25, 2026.

Requirements

  • Six (6) months of facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must be able to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to work in and contribute to a team.
  • Must be able to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of different environments, including high places.
  • Must have good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, and a good sense of balance.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
  • Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled workers in performing various electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, or masonry work.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the building, grounds, and equipment.
  • Communicate and interact directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
  • Assist trade technicians in diagnosing and suggesting solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
  • Communicate with the scheduler to update the status of repairs, estimate completion dates, and additional material requirements.
  • Operate company-provided vehicles, trailers, and small equipment to include but not limited to lifts, generators, portable heaters, hoists, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to maintain a record of all service and repair activities.
  • Follow all Safety Procedures and Policies.
  • Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.
  • Assemble and secure furniture and equipment as required.
  • Maintain and wear PPE as required.
  • Perform additional general maintenance tasks as assigned.
