About The Position

Aramark Facilities is hiring a General Maintenance Technician at Rivier University in Nashua, NH. This hands-on role supports campus buildings, dorms, and grounds by completing daily maintenance tasks such as light repairs, basic plumbing, electrical support, and event setup. You’ll work with hand tools, respond to maintenance requests, and assist skilled trades like HVAC and electricians. This position is ideal for someone dependable who enjoys physical work and problem-solving in a team environment. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM, with rotating on-call shifts and winter snow removal responsibilities. Requirements

  • 1+ year of general maintenance, facilities, custodial, construction, or handyman experience
  • Experience using hand tools and performing basic repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move furniture and equipment; perform physical work indoors and outdoors
  • Availability for Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM shift plus rotating on-call schedule
  • Willingness to work extended hours during snow events and emergencies
  • Strong reliability, attendance, and ability to work independently or on a team
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between nearby sites if needed

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC certification or experience with HVAC troubleshooting
  • Experience in campus, residential, or commercial facilities maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and safety procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance tasks including replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and repairing door hardware
  • Install bathroom fixtures such as dispensers, mirrors, and accessories
  • Clear clogged drains and complete basic plumbing and repair work
  • Assist licensed trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) with projects and preventative maintenance
  • Set up and break down campus events (tables, chairs, equipment)
  • Move furniture and equipment across campus as needed
  • Respond to work orders and campus maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Support snow removal operations including shoveling and snow blower use during winter storms
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory needed for daily work
  • Work in dorms, classrooms, and public spaces while maintaining a professional and respectful presence
