About The Position

Adventist Health Hanford is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to help keep its facilities and physical plant operating reliably and in good repair. The role performs routine general and preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, building repairs, and general construction duties, while maintaining required records. The position is based at Adventist Health Hanford, a 173-bed hospital with outpatient clinics in Kings County, California.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and age 21 or older are required in California and Oregon.
All required vaccinations are a condition of employment and must be received annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

High school education/GED or equivalent.
Associate’s or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Commercial maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

Plan and perform routine building maintenance repairs and services.
Set up and install furniture.
Participate as needed in renovations, new construction, alterations, and equipment installations.
Alter and repair machinery, equipment, or facilities according to basic skills, standard procedures, diagrams, or manufacturers’ instructions.
Perform routine inspections and general maintenance on vehicles.
Perform preventive maintenance and required safety tests; correct problems or promptly report equipment or system issues to the supervisor.
Contact outside service assistance for major equipment failures beyond the employee’s skill level.
Maintain records of service cycles, maintenance activities, preventive maintenance, reports, and files as required.
Maintain the tools and supplies needed to perform duties.
Report damage, defects, and other equipment-related issues.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
