About The Position

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks to support the safe, functional, and professional operation of the Express headquarters office building. This role responds to maintenance requests, completes basic repairs, and supports facility upkeep by following established procedures and safety guidelines. Work is performed onsite and focuses on day to day operational support of the facility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in general maintenance, facilities support, or a similar environment.
• Basic working knowledge of painting, light plumbing, lighting, and general repairs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.
• Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines reliably.
• Working knowledge of general building maintenance tasks and tools.
• Ability to perform routine, hands on maintenance work with attention to detail.
• Basic problem solving and troubleshooting skills within defined procedures.
• Dependable, self motivated, and able to work independently on assigned tasks.
• Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
• Customer service mindset when responding to building occupants’ needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs, including painting, patching, ceiling tile replacement, and basic carpentry tasks.
• Complete light plumbing and electrical work such as unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and changing lighting components.
• Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns and report findings as appropriate.
• Support preventive maintenance activities for building systems and equipment.
• Maintain tools, storage areas, and maintenance equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA guidelines, including proper use of PPE.
• Assist with special projects, office moves, and seasonal maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Support emergency response efforts (e.g., water leaks or power issues) under direction.
