About The Position

Under a major Intelligence Community contract, IAP operates and maintains facilities, systems, and associated grounds across Virginia and Maryland. Services provided include comprehensive facility operations; project management for renovations, minor construction, and major equipment repairs; engineering, construction, and operations support; custodial and grounds maintenance services; environmental, safety, and occupational health support; food services; motorpool and logistics operations; and physical and technical security services. As the General Maintenance Technician, you will perform unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repairs, adjustments and minor construction work in the basic trades to ensure that facilities are properly maintained and meet Project Standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of general work experience, including trades, labor, or custodial work.
  • Knowledge of Common hand tools; basic recordkeeping techniques; basic workplace safety procedures; and basic use of personal computers to access automated recordkeeping tools.
  • Active Top Secret SCI W/ CI Poly

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements related to maintenance of college facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance for building systems to include, floors, walls, finishes and hardware, alarm hardware, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems including controls, pumps, and motors.
  • Repair facilities structures, systems, and components, including performing minor repairs to building plumbing, low-voltage, and line voltage electric systems, door hardware, fire and life safety protection/equipment systems, sprinkler systems, and assisting in structural and roof inspections.
  • Assist with and learn the maintenance of induction, air handling, and refrigeration units, including serving, cleaning, and inspecting all related equipment.
  • Maintain and install waste, vent, and domestic water distribution systems.
  • May assist in welding or fabricating tasks.
  • Maintain recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance and repair to the Facilities.
  • Understand and adhere to all safety procedures of company and project.
