About The Position

Keep a historic hotel running beautifully. If you like solving problems with your hands and taking pride in a property guests actually notice, this one's worth a look. As a Maintenance Technician, you're the reason guest rooms are comfortable, public spaces look sharp, and everything from the faucets to the spa water is working the way it should.

Requirements

High school diploma and/or equivalent hands-on experience.
Comfortable reading safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals — and writing routine reports.
Solid practical math: fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and basic geometry.
Good judgment when instructions are general and the situation isn't — you can troubleshoot from a written description, a diagram, or a schedule.
Working knowledge of chemicals and how they interact, and the sense to use them safely.
Someone guests and coworkers find easy to talk to.
Clear vision, hearing, and speech matter — you'll be assessing conditions and communicating with guests, associates, and corporate contacts in person and by phone.

Responsibilities

Start most days walking the property — guest rooms, lobby, public areas, mechanical rooms — catching small issues before they turn into guest complaints.
Respond to guest room maintenance calls quickly and courteously, and see them through to a fix.
Swap out faulty items — light bulbs, faucets, and everything in that family.
Run the preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, lobby, and public areas.
Check and balance spa pH levels.
Handle grounds upkeep: sidewalk shoveling and salting, parking lot sweeps, garden maintenance, trash receptacles and dumpster areas.
Keep mechanical spaces safe, orderly, and clean, and keep clear records.
Track your daily work on the checklist management provides.
Monitor department supplies through weekly and monthly inventory.
Pitch in with other departments, special projects, and committees when needed.
