About The Position

Amentum is seeking a General Maintenance Technician IV to join their Facilities Maintenance team. The role is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of an office building, including fixing minor issues, inspecting building systems, and ensuring a comfortable environment. This position requires expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills, and possess the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot industrial facility equipment and systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Four years of maintenance experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot industrial facility equipment and systems.
  • Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitively during shift.
  • Ability to regularly kneel repetitively for shift.
  • Ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access databases, send/receive messages, and prepare documents.
  • Ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventive maintenance actions.
  • Performs general repairs such as patching drywall, painting walls, fixing doors, replacing ceiling tiles, and repairing office furniture.
  • Handles plumbing maintenance including fixing leaky faucets, clearing clogged drains, and servicing restroom fixtures.
  • Performs electrical upkeep such as replacing light bulbs, changing ballasts, testing emergency lights, and fixing minor wiring issues.
  • Provides HVAC support by changing air filters and checking heating and cooling units for normal operation.
  • Conducts routine inspections of the facility to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Coordinates with and oversees outside contractors for major repairs.
  • Manages inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
  • Communicates noncompliance concerns to ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, control, and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Responds to and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position, including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lock-out/tag-out procedures, and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware.
  • Performs regular preventive and corrective maintenance of kitchens, including ice machines.
  • Maintains a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility in day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
