About The Position

The General Maintenance Technician I assists with a variety of hands-on tasks encompassing most of the construction and building trades. This role requires basic technical troubleshooting skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to interact tactfully and courteously with co-workers, management, and clients.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a commercial or residential maintenance role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team; must follow oral and written instructions and possess a customer-service mindset.

Nice To Haves

• A 1-year certificate from a technical school/college is a plus, but an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating, repairing, and performing minor plumbing (toilets, urinals, sinks, faucets), electrical (switches, receptacles, lighting, breakers, ballasts), and HVAC tasks (filters, belts, basic PM).
• Handle basic carpentry, drywall prep, painting, and structural repairs (windows, doors, walls).
• Receive, execute, and complete work orders in a timely manner while keeping accurate records of materials and labor.
• Follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Proactively identify and fix potential safety hazards.
• Escort outside contractors or inspectors when needed; report complex issues to the supervisor. Maintain the company vehicle in good working order (refueling, logging monthly inspections).
