About The Position

The General Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing preventative, routine, and urgent maintenance functions. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing hotel equipment, facilities, and systems, as well as maintaining the overall appearance of guest rooms through tasks such as paint touch-ups, door repairs, lightbulb changes, drape repairs, and filter changes. The engineer will complete assigned work orders and projects, execute general plumbing repairs, and maintain accurate records for maintenance activities and inventory. Additionally, the role includes reprogramming phones, televisions, and safes, repairing furniture and fixtures, and using various tools to complete tasks. The position requires the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, move or lift heavy objects, and adhere to OSHA and hotel safety regulations. A key aspect of the role is interacting with guests, anticipating their needs, and adhering to hotel service standards, while also maintaining consistent communication with other hotel departments.

Requirements

  • Perform preventative, routine, and urgent maintenance functions
  • Troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment, facilities, and systems
  • Maintain the overall appearance of guest rooms: paint touch-ups, door repairs, lightbulb changes, drape repairs, filter changes, etc.
  • Complete work orders, preventative maintenance, and daily projects assigned by engineering management throughout the shift
  • Repair or caulk bathroom fixtures and execute general plumbing as needed
  • Maintain accurate records for work orders and preventative maintenance safety, repair/replacement of major equipment, and inventory of parts and supplies
  • Reprogram phones, televisions, and safes
  • Repair furniture and fixtures as necessary
  • Use power and hand tools to repair equipment
  • Climb ladders and scaffolding to complete tasks
  • Move or lift heavy objects as needed
  • Follow OSHA regulations
  • Comply with the required safety regulations
  • Greet guests and anticipate and satisfy guest requests
  • Adhere to hotel service standards
  • Maintain consistent communication with all hotel departments, notifying them of any escalated issues
