About The Position

The purpose of this position is to adjust non-attorney represented general liability claims. This role is responsible for contacting injured customers by telephone and/or in writing to promote premier customer service and provide quick resolution of claims. The Claims Adjuster is also responsible for investigating reported customer events to ensure all necessary information is accurately captured should the customer assert a claim. Additionally, the role involves managing all customer shopping cart damage and property damage claims to ensure timely and equitable resolution, and securing physical evidence related to customer events to assist in claims handling and potential future litigation. The position requires complying with federally mandated Medicare reporting on settled claims.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in any discipline
  • 3 years of customer service experience or 3 years retail operations experience or 1 year at Publix
  • Actively holds Florida All Lines Adjuster’s License
  • Fluent in second language, preferably Spanish
  • Knowledge of general insurance adjusting procedures, rules and ethics
  • Knowledge of legal issues and burden of proof relating to GL and Auto negligence in all states Publix operates in
  • Knowledge of legal issues and evidentiary standards relating to damages in all states that Publix operates.
  • Knowledge of risk transfer and notice obligations relating to same
  • Basic skill level of Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Knowledge of risk management claims system
  • Knowledge of Medicare reporting system
  • Knowledge of Microsoft outlook
