About The Position

Brethren Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a General Liability Adjuster to act as a specialist by independently handling moderately complex General Liability Claims and applying advanced judgment to evaluate exposure and resolution strategy. This role involves applying highly developed analytical skills to set reserves, assess facts, coverage, and risk while authorizing appropriate actions within established authority. The adjuster will also provide guidance to internal partners and stakeholders by advising on best practices, outcomes, and procedural requirements.

Requirements

5-7 years of experience as a General Liability Adjuster
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Claims Litigation

Responsibilities

Acts as a specialist by managing a portfolio of moderate to higher-complexity general liability casualty claims while exercising independent judgment and accountability for outcomes.
Handles assigned matters by approving actions, authorizing settlements within authority, and ensuring alignment with established guidelines and controls.
Applies highly developed investigative and analytical skills to evaluate liability, damages, and exposure and determine appropriate resolution strategies.
Checks and corrects claim documentation, evaluations, and financials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and procedural compliance.
Executes resolution activities by negotiating outcomes, coordinating required actions, and closing matters efficiently and effectively.
Coordinates externally by interfacing with claimants, representatives, legal counsel, vendors, and other external parties to gather information and advance resolution.
Advises and provides guidance to internal partners by consulting on complex issues, interpreting requirements, and recommending courses of action.
Coaches less experienced staff by sharing expertise, offering feedback, and reinforcing best practices through informal mentoring.
