General Ledger Accountant
About The Position
Our company exists to promote and protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We design, build, and support security and intelligence products. Our core expertise is in small, lightweight, low-cost radar systems for unmanned and manned aircraft, primarily in the military domain. We cover the entire lifecycle, often beginning with defining a market where none exists, designing and building the product, training the customer on how to use the system, and supporting it in the field. We have an exciting opportunity and are looking to hire a General Ledger Accountant. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will play an important role in the growth and stability of IMSAR. The accounting team is small but capable. You'd be offering your input on how to build and grow this team while keeping costs low and following required GAAP and DCAA guidelines.
Requirements
- At least a BS degree in accounting
- Two or more years of accounting or finance experience
- Attention to detail and ability to consistently comply with regulations, policies and procedures
- All applicants must be either a US citizen or permanent resident with a valid residency (green) card per FAR 22 C.F.R. 120.15.
Nice To Haves
- An active CPA license, or working toward this
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint software is preferred
Responsibilities
- Collecting and analyzing data about the company's operational costs
- Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Performing account reconciliations
- Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to the accounting team
- Recommending changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
- Contributing to the company's balance sheet and accounting books
- Invoicing, fixed asset and financial statement preparation
